Lumped-parameter-based thermal analysis for virtual prototyping of power electronics systems
Virtual prototyping of power electronics systems can enable rapid and iterative design process, and can satisfy the need for higher power density. Thermal modelling is a key part in the multi-physics virtual prototyping. In this paper, the T-type steady-state lumped-parameter model (LPM) for a naturally cooled heat sink with a power device on top is established. Empirical equations for the conv...
متن کاملA Saturating Lumped-Parameter Model for an Interior PM Synchronous Machine
This paper presents a lumped-parameter magnetic model for an interior permanent-magnet synchronous machine. The model accounts for the effects of saturation through a nonlinear reluctance-element network used to estimate the -axis inductance. The magnetic model is used to calculate inductance and torque in the presence of saturation. Furthermore, these calculations are compared to those from fi...
متن کاملFractional Identification of Rotor Skin Effect in Induction Machines
Fractional identification of rotor skin effect in induction machines is presented in this paper. Park‘s transformation is used to obtain a system of differential equations which allows to include the skin effect in the rotor bars of asynchronous machines. A transfer function with a f ractional derivative order has been selected to represent the admittance of the bar by the help of a non integer...
متن کاملA Lumped-parameter Dynamic Model of a Thermal Regenerator for Free-piston Stirling Engines
This paper uses lumped parameter dynamic equations to model the mass flow, piston dynamics, and control volume behavior inside a free-piston Stirling engine. A new model for a Stirling engine thermal regenerator that incorporates a dynamically changing temperature gradient is presented. The use of graphite as a regenerator matrix material is justified despite its limited background by comparing...
